If there's one thing we've come to know really well over the past two years, it's probably our flats. Most of us have spent enough time in them to notice what bothers us about them, and we may now even know how many times a day the neighbour above us flushes the toilet. Funnily enough, the Estonian trio Mart Kangro, Juhan Ulfsak and Eero Epner had already set out to make a play about living situations and real estate before the first Lockdown.
The three reflect on the desire for a home of one's own (preferably built with one's own hands), on taking up space and getting (too) close to each other and the demand for privacy (but with a view, please). What are we missing? What is this thing that is falling apart and that we can see from our 5th floor window? What do we think about when we think of real estate? It literally becomes a matter of perspectives. Like in «Workshop», the first piece they made together, which they showed at auawirleben in 2019, they lead us through a dramaturgy of interwoven anecdotes, facts and thoughts, sprinkled with a lot of dry humour.

There will be an audience discussion on 6.5. following the performance.

Mart Kangro is a freelance choreographer, director and dancer. In his works, he focuses on the meaningfulness of the human body and movement in theatre as semiotic space-time, and on existential issues of stage situation. His productions have been performed at major festivals in more than 20 countries across Europe. In recent years, he has produced works where he himself is not cast. Juhan Ulfsak is an actor and director. Since the 1990s, his energetic performing style and artistic principles have done a great deal to define the look of Estonian avant-garde theatre. Working in Von Krahl Theatre as an actor and, in recent years, director, Ulfsak has proceeded from anarchism, punk, decadence, surrealism and conceptualism, but his productions have also recontextualized classic plays. Eero Epner was a dramatist with Theatre NO99 since the theatre was founded in 2005. He has worked with several dozen directors, including many times with Kangro and Ulfsak.

Kangro, Ulfsak and Epner are also part of the format «Bring a Friend» and nominated the young Estonian performer Karolin Poska for it.
